Electoral Organizing

The reNEW Minnesota campaign is the electoral organizing arm of TakeAction Minnesota -- a statewide electoral movement committed to building a grassroots base of motivated and trained leaders. The reNEW Minnesota campaign was created to bridge the gap between electoral politics and issue advocacy work, connecting the work we do during campaign season to the policy work we do after winning candidates take office.

Clearly, who is elected to office does matter. The electoral infrastructure built by people who want progressive change now raises more money, efficiently mobilizes more voters, articulates a more compelling message, and is winning more elections. But at the same time, we haven’t been very effective at making the kind of bold policy change that Minnesota needs to lift all boats. The reNEW Minnesota campaign works to energize and expand the electorate during election season, and then keeps these individuals engaged in order to hold our elected officials accountable to moving progressive values forward.

The reNEW Minnesota campaign seeks to permanently shift the political landscape. We’re building statewide governing power that lasts beyond Election Day so that progressive ideas become real policy solutions. That’s how real change is made to improve people's lives.
