Paid Sick Leave

In Minnesota, 41% of working people do not have access to paid sick leave. As you might imagine, this 41% is disproportionately women and people of color.

When a low-wage worker is sick, or a women’s child needs to stay home from school, people without access to paid sick leave are forced to choose between taking care of themselves and losing their job.

Paid sick leave is extremely popular, across race, gender, and political parties. Seventy-five percent of Americans think that workers should be guaranteed 'a minimum number' of paid sick days to care for themselves or their family members.

Opposition from large corporate interests gets in the way of doing what’s best for our families, our communities, and our state. Corporate lobbyists oppose paid sick leave legislation around the country despite this widespread popular support and evidence that paid sick leave has improved the economy in cities where it is provided.

Guaranteed paid sick leave is good for public health, it’s good for families, and it’s good for the economy. Join us.
