Land Stewardship Project

Land Stewardship Project is a longtime member of TakeAction Minnesota. A grassroots membership organization founded in 1982 to further the ethic and practice of stewardship on America’s farms, LSP works with farmers and non-farmers alike for the advancement of economic and social justice for people who produce food and care for the land.

The Seventh Annual Family Farm Breakfast & Day at the Capitol

One of the highlights of the legislative session is always LSP's Family Farm Breakfast -- this year the Family Farm Breakfast will be Tuesday, March 6, from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church on Capitol Hill in Saint Paul. Gov. Mark Dayton is the featured guest.

This is a great opportunity to meet with your Senator and Representatives while enjoying food produced by LSP member-farmers. LSP will also be holding a lobbying training after the breakfast and then heading over to the Capitol to talk to legislators about protecting local control.

For details on reserving a spot or volunteering to help with food preparation, registration or cleaning up, head to LSP's website. To RSVP online, click here. You don't want to miss the best breakfast in town!

Fighting For Local Control

LSP is leading the charge to keep local control strong so that communities can stop unwanted and harmful developments. The bill to weaken local control, House File 389, is stalled in the Local Government Operations and Elections Committee, but could move anytime. Last month, an outpouring of phone calls and e-mails to members of the committee, along with strong testimony opposing the bill, led to it being tabled. LSP's work was crucial in stalling the bill.

For details on how to make it clear this and similar proposals should advance no further at the Minnesota Legislature, see LSP's Action Alerts page.
