Our Common Welfare
We face common challenges in life. We all age. We get sick. Our kids need to be educated. We need homes, safe communities, and ways to travel. For all but the wealthiest among us, the cost of paying for any of these on our own is impossibly high. To sustain these common solutions, we need adequate and equitable public revenue.
For people across the state, we can make Social Security more solvent and more equitable by lifting the cap on contributions and including those who’ve left paid employment to work as caregivers.
The Affordable Care Act is making access to health care more secure and affordable for Minnesotans. Our Together for Health Campaign is working to ensure it’s being used to build a people-friendly Health Benefit Exchange for Minnesota.
Minnesota’s education system has been a justifiable source of pride and a bedrock of our economy for generations. While the system has been under attack, TakeAction Minesota has pushed back, working to improve the quality and funding of K-12 education in Minnesota.
Our state is changing, getting both older and more racially diverse. Creating a state where everyone is cared for and no one’s talents are wasted is a challenge that will define our times.
